RUFC - Head-to-Head v Torquay



Rotherham United welcome Torquay United to Don Valley on Friday night.

The Millers and Gulls have played each other twenty-one times in the past, with the Millers coming out on top in twelve of those games, the latest being at Plainmoor in November.
That cold wet afternoon looked like it was going to be a dull nil-nil until the last five minutes when Kevin Ellison and Adam Le Fondre scored to give the visitors the three points.

Before that, it had been ten years since the two sides had met and honours were equal with both sides winning at their respective homes. Trevor Berry scored the only goal at Millmoor in the Millers win while in March 2000, at Plainmoor, Brian Healy put the Gulls in front from the penalty spot with Steve Thompson getting an equaliser for Rotherham a few minutes before half-time. Four minutes into the second half Tom Stocco gave the home side all three points.
