RUFC - Head-to-Head v Vale

RUFC - Head-to-Head v Vale
Since the start of this century, Rotherham United have the upper hand over Saturday's visitors, Port Vale, having won six of the ten league and cup games.

The game at Vale Park in November, saw the Millers come away with all three points when Nicky Law scored a last minute goal to add to the one Stephen Brogan had scored on thirty-one minutes. Luke Prosser had equalised for the home side on thirty-six minutes but didn't make it out for the second half after receiving a second yellow card in injury time of the first half.

This game has brought some big scores in the past - in February 1930, Vale won 7-1 at home and in August 1972 the Millers scored seven goals at Millmoor against Vale. More recently, the Millers were handed a 5-1 thrashing by Vale at Millmoor in March 2007. Akpo Sodje got four goals that day with George Pilkington getting the other. Delroy Facey scored the Millers' goal in front of a crowd of 3,854. Earlier in the season, the Millers had gone to Vale Park and won 3-1 with goals from Justin Cochrane, Dave Hibbert and Will Hoskins. Leon Constantine got a consolation for Vale from a penalty.
