David has just moved up to the National List of Referees after being on the National List of Assistant Referees since 2006. In 2009 he was promoted to the Select List of Assistant Referees and rubbed shoulders with the Premier League elite.

He was actually an assistant referee at the age of twelve for his Uncle`s Sunday morning football team in Nottinghamshire (Wheatsheaf United) and took the course two years later aged fourteen.

In the last few seasons David has been in charge of games in the Football Conference.
