RUFC - Head-to-Head v Burton

Rotherham United travel the relatively short distance to Burton tomorrow in their quest to return to Wembley, though this time in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

The Millers and Brewers have only met a handful of times, as Burton have only been in the league since 2009.

Last season, at the Pirelli Stadium, the game ended one-nil to the Millers with a goal on fifty-two minutes from Adam Le Fondre.

Burton Albion were 'born` in 1950 from such teams as Burton Swifts, Burton Town, Burton United, and Burton Wanderers who all came and went after financial struggles in what is a traditionally rugby union area. They started life at the Lloyds Foundry Ground before moving to Eton Park in 1958. The Pirelli Stadium was purpose built for Albion in 2005.

In February 2009, Albion were top of the Conference table by a clear nineteen points and Blue Square declared them the Champions and paid out on all bets. After that the club saw their lead reduced each week and it was the final game of the season, when Cambridge United could only draw with Altrincham that saw the Brewers go up despite losing to Torquay!
