RUFC - Ref Watch v Southend

Phil Crossley from Kent

Phil came through the Suburban, Isthmian and Panel Leagues before being promoted to the National List of Referee's in 2002 and two years later was in charge of two games involving the Millers.

The first game was at Highfield Road against Coventry City which ended nil-nil with Crossley booking Chris Sedgwick and Robbie Stockdale of the Millers and Louis Carey of Coventry.
The next game was at Millmoor when a Martin McIntosh goal on seventy-seven minutes gave the Millers a win over Leeds United in front of 8,860 when Crossley booked Shaun Barker.

In 2006, Phil was in charge, ironically, of the game at Roots Hall where the Millers lost two-nil. The first goal was scored by ex-Miller, Shaun Goater on twelve minutes and Fredy Eastwood got Southends second on thirty-six minutes.
