RUFC - Head-to-Head v Southend

Rotherham United travel to Roots Hall on Saturday for the first time since 2006 when Southend won two-nil. The Shrimpers also won that season at Millmoor, four-two where goals from Mark Bentley and Adam Barrett put them in front in the first twenty-five minutes only for Colin Murdock to score followed by a penalty from Deon Burton which sent the Millers in all square at half time. Wayne Gray came on for the visitors on eighty-three minutes and his first touch was to put the ball past Neil Cutler to give the Shrimpers the lead again. And Gray scored two minutes from the end, from the penalty spot to make sure that all three points went home with them.

Both sides have won seven league games each with six being draws and the Millers won the only cup game (FA Cup) the sides have played, three-two, in 1966.
