'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Crewe

ND Swarbrick from Lancashire

Neil is one of the referee's who, after starting the profession later in life than some, rose quickly through the ranks, taking just six years to get to the National List of Referee Assistants and another four to get promotion to the Referee's List.

He was last in charge of a Millers game back in October last year when Hereford came to Don Valley. Adam Le Fondre put the Millers in front on eleven minutes but huffed and puffed their way through the game only to slip up in the last minute and allowed Gavin McCallum to get an equaliser. That day the Rotherham team went off to boos from their own fans.

This season, Neil has been in the middle for fourteen games and has shown forty-four yellow cards and one red card, which was to Lee Peltier of Huddersfield in a League Cup game at Goodison Park.

The Referees Assistants will be …

ME Weaver from the West Midlands
J Whiteley from West Yorkshire

The Fourth Official will be …

SJ Copeland from Merseyside
