RUFC - Ref Watch v Macclesfield

RUFC - Ref Watch v Macclesfield
EL Ilderton from Tyne and Wear

After having his playing career curtailed due to injury, Eddie was encouraged by his father to become a referee and he began refereeing in the Northern Alliance and Northern Leagues. Eddie has been on the National List of Referees since 2002 and in 2003 he was in the middle for the UEFA Regions' Cup Final and also an FA Trophy semi-final.

The last time Eddie was in charge of a Millers game was at Edgar Street in May last year when the Millers never seemed to get going and lost three-nil to Hereford. He was also the referee at Morecambe in 2008 when the Millers were on the end of a five-one hiding, when Jon Newbey scored a hat-trick in thirty-three minutes and goals from Matthew Blinkhorn and Craig Stanley made it five. Mark Hudson got the Millers' consolation goal. The only yellow card that day was given to Peter Holmes

Eddie was also in the middle for our game at Don Valley when the Millers beat Grimsby Town two-one. Adam Le Fondre scored both goals for the Millers before half-time with Wes Fletcher getting a last minute goal for the Mariners.

So far this season, Eddie has reffed sixteen games, giving out thirty-five yellow cards and four red.

Running the line on Monday at Moss Rose will be

KW Haycock from West Yorkshire
AJ Horton from Wolverhampton

The fourth official will be

MT Jones from Cheshire
