'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v The Shrews

P Tierney from Lancashire

This is Paul`s second season as a Football League Referee and he was at Don Valley in August for our six-four win over Cheltenham when Adam Le Fondre (4), Danny Harrison and Ryan Cresswell scored for the Millers while Jeff Goulding, Wes Thomas, Sean Jeffers and Keith Lowe replied for the visitors. He showed yellow cards to Tom Elliott and Michael Pook that day.

In his first season, Paul was in charge of two games involving the Millers, the first being at Cheltenham which ended one-all with Le Fondre scoring on the stroke of half-time to give Rotherham the lead only for Julian Alsop to equalise five minutes from time. He was also in the middle for our FA Cup game with Luton at Don Valley which ended in a two-all draw. Tom Craddock gave the Hatters the lead from the penalty spot on twenty-one minutes with Le Fondre making it one-one twenty-four minutes later. Stephen Brogan put the Millers in front just after the hour mark but twelve minutes later Mark Nwokeji equalised to get the non-league side a replay.

Paul has been involved in twenty-three games this season, dishing out eighty-three yellow and six red cards.

Running the line at Don Valley will be ...

M Duncan from Cheshire
O Yates from Staffordshire

The Fourth Official will be …
