'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Hereford

C Boyeson from East Yorkshire

Carl started his career in the Hull Sunday League before being promoted to the National List of Assistant Referees, via the Northern Premier League in 1996. In 2002 he reached the National List of Referees.

The last time Carl was in charge of a game at Don Valley was in October 2009 when Notts County were the visitors. Nick Fenton was sent off in the second half after getting a second yellow card but ten men Rotherham managed to hold onto a nil-nil with Andy Warrington being the star of the game.

Less than a month later, Carl was again in charge of a Millers game, this time in an FA Cup replay against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. The Millers, who had drawn earlier with the Hatters, two-two, at Don Valley, lost the game three-nil. Danny Harrison was the only Miller booked on the night.
