'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Aldershot

KG Evans from Greater Manchester

Karl started refereeing at the age of fifteen in Salford in junior football, working his way up to the National List of Referees in 2007. In 2009 he was appointed the fifth official in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final at the Millennium Stadium.

He has been in the middle for two Millers games this season - the first for our FA Cup tie against York City at Don Valley, which ended 0-0. Adam Le Fondre was booked for the Millers and Djouman Sangare and Chris Smith for the Minstermen.

Karl also reffed our gam at Vale Park in February when the Millers lost to a Jay O'Shea goal on the fifty-third minute. Vale had six players booked that day while the only yellow card shown to a Miller was to Nicky Law.

The first time Karl was in charge of a Millers game was in September 2007 at Millmoor against Notts County. Peter Holmes put the Millers in front on seven minutes only for Spencer Weir-Daley to equalise thirty minutes later to give both teams a point. Karl showed yellow to Marcus Bean of the home side and the visitors' Paul Mayo and Matt Somner.
