'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Crewe

Paul Tierney from Lancashire
This is Paul`s third season as a Football League Referee and he was in charge of our game in August last year at Don Valley against Cheltenham Town.

The game saw ten goals with Jeff Goulding putting the visitors in front on four minutes. Adam Le Fondre got the equaliser twelve minutes later only for West Thomas and Sean Jeffers to make it three-one. Danny Harrison got a second for the Millers four minutes before half-time. Three minutes into the second half, Alfie equalised again and got his and two minutes later put the Millers in front and got his hat-trick. Ryan Cresswell headed the fifth for the Millers and Alfie got his fourth on sixty-six minutes. Keith Lowe pulled one back for Cheltenham in the final minute of the game to make it six-four. Tom Elliott and Michael Pook saw yellow cards that day.

This season, Paul has been in charge of just one game - Hartlepool v Walsall and showed five yellow and two red cards.
