RUFC - Ref Watch v The Blades

Gary Sutton from Lincolnshire

Gary worked his way up through the ranks and finally made it to the National List of Referees six years ago.

In his first season he was in charge of our game at Millmoor against Yeovil. Deon Burton put the Millers in front on eighteen minutes but an own goal from Colin Murdock just after the half-hour mark got Yeovil back into the game. Unfortunately for the Millers just four minutes later Matt Harrold was allowed too much freedom and got the visitors second, and what turned out to be the winner. That day Gary showed yellow cards to Sean Barker and Andy Monkhouse of the Millers and Yeovil's Efe Sodje. Just eighteen days later, on Boxing Day, Gary was again in the middle for our game at Ashton Gate. Steve Brooker gave the Robins an eleventh minute lead but Colin Murdock, this time putting in his own net, equalised fifteen minutes later. Three minutes after the break Scott Murray gave the home side the lead again and Brooker scored his second and City's third to give them a three-one win on seventy-seven minutes. Paul McLaren and Lee Williamson saw yellow on this day.

Last season, Gary was in charge of our only game in December which was at Don Valley against Aldershot when an Adam Le Fondre goal on forty minutes was enough to give the Millers all three points. Aldershot's Jamie Vincent was sent off two minutes from full-time for his second yellow after upending Marcus Marshall on the edge of the box.

Running the line at Don Valley tomorrow will be

David Plowright from Nottinghamshire
and
Gary Stott from Manchester

The Fourth Official will be

Ryan Newman from Yorkshire
