RUFC - Head-to-Head v The Blades

After getting a bye in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, the Millers entertain Sheffield United at Don Valley tomorrow evening.

The Millers and Blades have met thirty-two times before in League and League Cup, with the Blades having won eighteen times to the Millers' seven. The last time the two met in a Cup competition was in the Littlewoods Cup (League Cup) in the 1989/90 season. The first game at Bramall Lane ended one-all with Clive Mendonca getting the Millers goal. In the replay at Millmoor a Bobby Williamson goal was enough to give the Millers a win.

The last time the two met in the League was in February 2005 at Bramall Lane. Former Rotherham loanee Paul Shaw scored the only goal of the game on fifty-one minutes to give the Blades the win. This game saw the Blades in eighth place of the Championship and the Millers firmly at the foot of the table eight points below the side above them, Nottingham Forest.

The game at Millmoor, earlier in the season, ended two-two. Michael Tonge had put the visitors one-up on the stroke of half-time and Paul Shaw made it two-nil two minutes into the second half. Goals from Chris Swailes and Martin McIntosh salvaged a point for the Millers.
