RUFC - Head-to-Head v Bristol Rovers

Rotherham United travel to the Memorial Stadium for the first Friday night game of the season to take on Bristol Rovers.

The teams have met fifty times in the league in the past with both clubs having won eighteen games each. The last of these games was played over ten years ago at Millmoor with the Millers winning three-nil with a goal from Richie Barker and two from Jeff Minton. The last time the two met at the Memorial Stadium the spoils were shared after Kevin Watson had put the visitors ahead on sixteen minutes only for Micky Evans to equalise on sixty-six minutes.

The last time the Millers won at the Memorial Ground was at the end of the 1996/7 season. Trevor Berry scored for United on twenty-one minutes but an own goal from defender Mark Monington saw the Gas get an equaliser. Three minutes from the end of the game Darren Garner gave the visitors all three points.
