RUFC - Head-to-Head v The Shrews

Rotherham United entertain Shrewsbury Town at Don Valley on Saturday for the fiftieth-first time in the League. The Shrews have won the most games, twenty-four, with the Millers trailing on fourteen.

Last season, Shrewsbury won both league games, one-nil at New Meadow when Lionel Ainsworth scored the only goal on five minutes and three-one at Don Valley, when Jim Collins opened the scoring on twenty minutes, Nicky Wroe scored a penalty two minutes before half-time and Collins got his second and the visitors third three minutes into the second half. Adam Le Fondre got a consolation in the last twenty minutes for the Millers.

The last time the Millers beat the Shrews was at Millmoor in November 2007. A first Millers league goal for Ryan Taylor in the first half and a goal for Derek Holmes just back from injury in the second half saw the Millers go third in the table.

This was also the game that saw Paul Hurst go into the Rotherham United record books as the player with the most appearances for the club. When Hursty came on from the subs bench he beat the legendary Danny Williams record of 492 appearances.
