RUFC - Head-to-Head v Northampton

RUFC - Head-to-Head v Northampton
Rotherham United travel to Sixfields on Saturday to take on Northampton Town.

The teams have met thirty times before in the league, the Millers having won thirteen and the Cobblers winning eleven.

Last season both games between the two were two-two draws. At Sixfields on a Friday night in April, an own goal from Paul Rodgers gave the Millers an early lead and on the stroke of half-time, Ryan Taylor made it two. The Millers managed to hold on until the sixty-eighth minute when Leon McKenzie toe-poked the ball over the line and Liam Davis got an equaliser for the home side with almost the last kick of the game.

The last time the Millers beat the Cobblers at Sixfields was in October 2000. The Millers played seventy-five minutes of the game with just ten men after Guy Branston saw red on fifteen minutes for a second yellow card. Stuart Talbot got the only goal of the game on the half-hour mark. Apart from Branston's yellow cards, Dave Artell, Paul Hurst, Rob Scott, Paul Warne and Alan Lee were booked by referee M Cooper while just Steve Howard from the home side saw yellow.
