'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v The Shots

James Linington from Newport, Isle of Wight

James became an Assistant Referee in 2006 and, in that year, he was an Assistant for the FA Vase Final and the League One Play-Off Final between Barnsley and Swansea. He was promoted to the National Group of Referee's in 2008.

This will be James' third time in charge of a Millers game, and his first at Don Valley. The first time was in March 2010 at Dagenham and Redbridge where a goal from Adam Le Fondre just after the hour mark gave the Millers all three points. That day James showed yellow cards to Nick Fenton, Mark Lynch and Dale Tonge.

James was also in charge for our Wembley Play-Off Final game that year, also against the Daggers in May. Paul Benson put Dagenham one up on thirty-eight minutes with Ryan Taylor getting an equaliser a minute later. Danny Green regained the lead for the Daggers on fifty-six minutes only for Taylor to equalise again five minutes later. On seventy minutes Jon Nurse gave the Southern side the lead for the third time that day and, unfortunately for the Millers, Taylor or any other red shirted player, couldn't equalise again. Green and Romain Vincelot were booked for the Daggers that day alongside Millers Ian Sharps, Ryan Taylor and Adam Le Fondre.

This season, James has been in the middle for sixteen games and has shown fifty-three yellow cards.

Running the line at Don Valley on Saturday will be
Tony Harrington from Cleveland
and
Ryan Johnson from Manchester

The Fourth Official will be
David Lawrence from South Yorkshire
