RUFC - Head-to-Head v Swindon

Rotherham United entertain Swindon Town for the first ever time at Don Valley Stadium on Saturday when, I think, we are all expecting the 'Paolo di Canio circus' in town.

This will be the twenty-eighth meeting between the two sides with the Robins winning the majority of the games - seventeen to the Millers' six. The last time the sides met at Millmoor was over six years ago when a goal from Rory Fallon on the stroke of half-time was enough to give the visitors all three points, which took the games without wins for the Millers to sixteen.

In March 2001 there were seven goals scored in the game at Millmoor between Rotherham and Swindon. Gary Alexander put the visitors in front on six minutes but an own goal from Alan Reeves seven minutes later gave the Millers an equaliser. Mark Robins then put the home side in the lead which lasted just three minutes when Alexander equalised for the visitors. Four minutes into the second half Ian Woan made it three-two to Swindon but two more goals for Mark Robins gave him a hat-trick and a win for Rotherham.
