RUFC - Ref Watch v The Gulls

Gary Sutton from Lincolnshire

Gary worked his way up through the ranks and finally made it to the National List of Referees six years ago

This will be Gary's second visit to Don Valley this season - the first being for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game against Sheffield United. The Blades won the tie two-one with Chris Porter opening the scoring on nine minutes. Alex Revell equalised on sixty-nine minutes but, when it looked like the game would be decided on penalties, Ched Evans scored in the last minute of the game. Gary showed just one yellow card that night and that was to Kevin McDonald from the visitors.

Last season, Gary was in charge of our one-nil win over Aldershot at Don Valley. The only goal of the game was on forty minutes from Adam Le Fondre. Two minutes from time Gary showed a red card to James Vincent of the Shots. He was also in the middle for our game at Gigg Lane against Bury. Ryan Lowe scored four minutes before half-time with Adam Le Fondre equalising two minutes into the second half to take a share of the points.

This season Gary has been in the middle for twenty-five games and has already shown seventy-five yellow cards and eight red cards.

Running the line at Don Valley on Saturday will be …

Tony Harrington from Cleveland
and
Stephen Martin from Staffordshire

The Fourth Official will be …

Nigel Smith from Derbyshire
