'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Accrington

NIGEL MILLER from County Durham

Nigel was appointed to the National List of Assistant Referees in 1996 and seven years later was promoted to the National List of Referees. He says that the highlights of his career so far are his three trips to the Millennium Stadium.

Nigel was in charge of our game against Macclesfield at Don Valley last season. With the wind swirling the rain around it wasn't a pretty game and it looked like being a goalless draw until Tyrone Barnett put the visitors into the lead on eighty-four minutes. Adam Le Fondre popped up a minute later to equalise for the Millers but, as the whistle blew for the end of the game, boos could be heard from the Millers fans in the stands.

In the twenty-eight games Nigel has been in the middle for this season, he has shown sixty-nine yellow cards but just two red cards

Running the line at Don Valley this evening will be

Ross Joyce from Cleveland
and
Ollie Yates from Staffordshire

The Fourth Official will be ...

Paul Graham from Manchester
