RUFC - Head-to-Head v The Gills

RUFC - Head-to-Head v The Gills
Rotherham United make the long trip to Gillingham this evening for, what will be, the fifty-second meeting between the two sides.

The last time the Millers won at the Priestfield Stadium was nearly twenty-four years ago in May 1988 when Paul Haycock and Clive Mendonca were the scorers in front of just over three thousand fans. The Millers also won in April 1979 when the only goal of the game was scored by Billy McEwan while in December, three years earlier, Alan Crawford and Trevor Phillips scored to give Rotherham a two-one victory.

Earlier this season, the Gills suffered a three-nil defeat at Don Valley, when the scorers were Danny Harrison, Lewis Grabban and Gareth Evans, with all three goals being scored in the second half.

Last season at the Priestfield Cody McDonald put the home side in front on five minutes only for Nicky Law to equalise two minutes later. Unfortunately, for the Millers, McDonald got a second before half-time and Dennis Oli scored a minute from the end to make it a three-one win for the Gills.
