RUFC - Head-to-Head v Hereford

Rotherham United meet Hereford on Saturday in the League for what will be the sixteenth time with the Millers having won five of these meetings and the Bulls four.

This will be the third game at Don Valley Stadium, the previous two being draws. The first was in October 2009 when Adam Le Fondre gave the Millers an eleventh minute lead. With it looking like the Millers would get all three points the defence failed to clear a ricocheted ball and it fell to Gavin McCallum who shot the ball from twelve yards out into the back of the net in the last minute of the game.

Last season, which was Andy Scott's first game in charge, ended nil-nil.

The first time the teams ever met in Rotherham was at Millmoor in August 1975. The game ended one-one with the Millers scorer being John Breckin.

The biggest win for the Millers over Hereford was in April 1989 when goals from John Buckley (2),
Shaun Goodwin, Paul Haycock, Des Hazel and Andy Williams gave the Millers a six-nil win in the Barclays Fourth Division.

The only time the Bulls have won on Rotherham soil was at Millmoor in February 2008. The Millers had been the better side with Andy Warrington only really being bothered once then, five minutes before half-time, Stephen Brogan lost a boot which allowed Lee Collins to get into space and surge upfield. Unchecked he got in a great shot to Gary Hooper who drilled the ball into the back of the net from close range which was the only goal of the game.

Johnny Mullins and Alex Revell put the Millers two-up in the first twenty-three minutes but before half-time Yoann Arquin and former Miller Delroy Facey had got the game back to two-all. Johnny Mullins struck again on the sixty-fifth minute to give the Millers all three points.
