RUFC - Head-to-Head v Aldershot

RUFC - Head-to-Head v Aldershot
Rotherham United make the long trip to the Recreation Ground to take on Aldershot Town.

The two clubs have met fourteen times in the League before with the Millers winning the majority.

The last time the teams met at the Recreation Ground was the last Millers away trip of last season when the game ended two-all. Gareth Evans was brought down in the penalty area by Darren Jones ten minutes into the game, picked himself up and put the resulting penalty away. Peter Vincenti got an equaliser ten minutes later but Sam Hoskins, on loan from Southampton, chipped the ball over Jamie Young in the Shots` net to give the Millers the lead back. Ten minutes into the second half Guy Madjo headed home from under the crossbar to make it two-two. On eighty-two minutes Tom Newey got a second yellow for a two-footed lunge at Adam Mekki and three minutes later Jordon Roberts, who`d been on the pitch less than twenty minutes, also received a second yellow and followed Newey for an early bath.

The last time the Millers won at Aldershot was in the first leg of the League Two play-off semi-final in May 2010 when a goal two minutes from time from Adam Le Fondre in front of the travelling Millers gave them a one-nil lead going into the second leg at Don Valley.
