RUFC - Head-to-Head v Wycombe

Rotherham United welcome Wycombe Wanderers to the New York Stadium for a Tuesday night game.

Of the fourteen times the two have met in the league in the past, the Chairboys have won five of them, the Millers four and there have been five drawn games.

The last time the two met at a 'home' game for the Millers was in October 2011 at Don Valley when the Millers were beaten by a controversial penalty. Kevin Betsy and Matt Bloomfield put the visitors two up in the first eighteen minutes with Adam Le Fondre and Jason Taylor scoring to equalise before Ben Strevens scored in the last minute of the first half to give Wycombe a three-two lead going into half-time. On sixty-nine minutes Chris Westwood climbed all over Exodus Geohaghon and referee Peter Quinn gave a penalty which Le Fondre put away. Then, as the Millers were getting on top, disaster happened as Betsy seemed to fall over with Johnny Mullins at his heels. The linesman pointed for a corner while Mr Quinn pointed to the penalty spot. With the Millers protesting and the linesman seeming to be on their side the ref went over to have a word with his official and both then decided it was a penalty. Scott Rendell was given the job of taking it and he slotted it home to make it four-three to the visitors.

The last time Wycombe were actually on Rotherham soil was in January 2008 at Millmoor. The game ended one-all with Stephen Brogan scoring for the home side on fourteen minutes and Scott McGleish equalised eleven minutes into the second half.
