RUFC - Ref Watch v The Gills

RUFC - Ref Watch v The Gills
Andy Haines from Tyne and Wear

Andy started refereeing in London in 1995. After two seasons as a Panel referee Andy was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2007.

Andy was in charge of two games at Don Valley last season - firstly against Burton Albion where the Millers got off to the worst possible start in this game when Jimmy Phillips went by the Millers' defence like it wasn't there, got the ball to Cleveland Taylor who's shot deflected off Tom Newey, fell to a blatantly off-side Justin Richards who tapped it into the back of the net. The Millers never seem to get over this and the game ended one-nil to the Brewers. Andy Haines booked Danny Harrison of the Millers that day plus three Burton players.

Secondly Andy was in the middle when Crawley made their first visit to Don Valley. Brett Williams put the Millers ahead on twenty minutes but goals from Tyrone Barnett and Josh Simpson in the second half gave Crawley a two-one win.

Andy has been in charge of a number of Millers games including the first ever one at Don Valley when the Millers beat Lincoln City with a Reuben Reid goal a minute before half-time.

In the fourteen games Andy has been in charge of this season he has shown thirty-seven yellow cards and one red card.

Running the line on Saturday will be

Steven Meredith from Nottinghamshire
and
Danny Gratton from Staffordshire

The Fourth Official will be

Alf Greenwood from North Yorkshire
