RUFC - Head-to-Head v Accrington

Rotherham United and Accrington Stanley have met fifty-three times in the League before with the Millers having won twenty-eight of those to Stanley's sixteen.

The last time the two met on Rotherham soil was at Millmoor on 1st March 2008 when the only goal of the game came from Stanley's Ian Craney on sixty-four minutes which left then Manager, Mark Robins, livid. Robins said he was 'embarrassed' and it was the 'worst second half performance I've witnessed for a long, long time.'

Although the Millers beat Accrington three times at Don Valley the last time they beat them on Rotherham soil, at Millmoor, was in February 1951 when the scoreline read Rotherham 6 Accrington 2. Jack Shaw got a hat-trick that day while Jack Grainger got two and Nobby Noble got one. There were over fourteen and a half thousand at Millmoor that day.

The last time the two sides met was at the Crown Ground last month, after the original game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Dean Winnard put the home side in front on two minutes but two goals from Daniel Nardiello on five minutes and three minutes into the second half secured all three points for the visitors.
