RUFC - Ref Watch v Bristol Rovers

JAMES LININGTON from the Isle of Wight

James became an Assistant Referee in 2006. In that year he was an Assistant for the FA Vase Final and the League One Play-Off Final between Barnsley and Swansea. He was promoted to the National Group of Referee's in 2008.

James has only been in charge of three Millers games in the past the first two being against Dagenham and Redbridge. The first was in March 2010 at the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Stadium where a goal from Adam Le Fondre just after the hour mark gave the Millers all three points. He was always the referee in charge of our visit to Wembley at the end of May which saw the Daggers win three-two.

The last time James was in the middle for a Millers game was at Don Valley on Bonfire Night 2011 when Aldershot were the visitors. Lewis Grabban put the Millers in front on fourteen minutes with Chris Holroyd making it two-nil four minutes before half-time. Ten minutes into the second half Shots' 'keeper Ross Worner had a rush of blood when he dashed off his line and laid out Alex Revell on the edge of the box. The referee sent him off and, with the Shots having no 'keeper on the bench, midfielder Jamie Collins took over between the sticks although the Millers didn't bother him much and the game ended two-nil.

James has only been in the middle for four games this season and has shown eleven cards.

Running the line at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday will be ...

Mark Pottage from Dorset
and
Ronald Ganfield from Somerset

The Fourth Official will be...

Robert Ellis from the West Midlands
