RUFC - Head-to-Head v Wolves

RUFC - Head-to-Head v Wolves
Rotherham United travel to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday which will be the thirty-second league meeting between the sides.

Last season at Molineux the game ended goalless with the two yellow cards of the day going to Kirk Broadfoot and Greg Halford.

The season before the game was in February 2015 and saw five goals, all coming from the home side. Benik Ofobe opened the scoring on twenty-one minutes and seven minutes later former Miller Nouha Dicko made it two. Ofobe, David Edwards and Bakary Sako scored in the second half to make it five-nil. Kari Arnason, Adam Hammill and Danny Ward saw yellow for the Millers that day.

The game before that was a League One fixture and saw a ten goal thriller which included two hat-tricks and a very entertaining game of football. On this Good Friday afternoon Kieran Agard opened the scoring for the Millers with former Millers loanee Nouha Dicko equalising seven minutes later. On the thirty-fourth minute Dicko got his second which was followed four minutes later by a goal from David Edwards making it three-one to the hosts. Kieran Agard made it three-two just after the hour mark but a third for Dicko gave the Wolves a two goal advantage again. Joe Skarz waded in with a goal four minutes later with Agard getting his hat-trick and an equaliser with two minutes to go. With an accident blocking the motorway on the way down causing the game to be delayed, the away fans were making plans to go home with a point but were disappointed when extra time goals from Kevin McDonald and Sam Ricketts made it six-four to Wolves.

The only time that Rotherham have beaten Wolves in the league at their ground was on 17 April 1920 when a goal from Herbert Lounds was the only one in the game.

The game at the New York Stadium was the first game of the season and saw a point going to each side. Danny Ward and Will Vaulks gave the Millers a two-nil lead with George Saville pulling one back for the visitors before the break. On fifty-two minutes Wolves went down to ten men after Dominic Iorfa was sent off for pulling back Jon Taylor and thirteen minutes later Iceland striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson earned the visitors a point. Stephen Kelly and Vaulks saw yellow that day along side George Saville of Wolves.
