RUFC - Ref Watch v Reading
This is Chris's third season as a League Referee with the start of the 2012/13 season saw him promoted to a referee in the Blue Square Conference after reffing in his home of Manchester. May 2014 saw Chris appointed as the Manchester County FA's Referee Development Officer.
This will be the third time Chris has been in charge of a Millers game this season. Last time was in December at the Pirelli Stadium where Jason Irvine put Burton in front on the quarter of an hour mark. Matthew Palmer made it two just after the hour mark with Tom Adeyemi getting a consolation goal for the Millers in the last minute of the game. Will Vaulks of Rotherham and Tom Naylor of Burton were booked that afternoon.
A Tuesday night in October also saw him in the middle of our game at St Andrews. Michael Morrison put Birmingham in front on the quarter of an hour mark but Danny Ward equalised just after the half-hour mark. Four minutes later the Blues were back in front with a goal from Lukas Jutkiewicz and just before half-time a stunning strike from Jacques Maghoma made it three-one. Things looked a bit brighter for the Millers on fifty-six minutes when Jon Taylor made it three-two but a dubious penalty decision when a fifty-fifty ball between Lee Camp and Che Evans saw Kavanagh give the spot-kick David Cotterill stepped up and made it four-two. Maghoma saw yellow for the hosts that evening with Dominic Ball and Darnell Fisher getting the same for the Millers.
Chris has only been involved once previous to the Birmingham game with the Millers which was in March at Hillsborough when a Matt Derbyshire goal was the only goal of the game giving the Millers the South Yorkshire bragging rights. There were no cards on the day.
