RUFC - Head-to-Head v Reading

RUFC - Head-to-Head v Reading
Easter Monday sees Rotherham United make the long journey to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading.

Last season this fixture was a Tuesday night game when a goal from Hal Robson-Kanu on sixty-six minutes was the only goal of the game giving the hosts all three points. Richard Wood, Greg Halford, Grant Ward, Richie Smallwood and Jonson Clarke-Harris saw yellow for the Millers that day alongside Michael Hector for the Royals.

The season before at the Madejski, in November 2014, was a three-nil win for the hosts. Jamie Mackie scored just before half-hour mark and second half goals from Simon Cox on fifty-five and sixty-four minutes gave the Royals all three points.

The time before that was over twelve years ago in August 2004 when a penalty on the stroke of half-time from Dave Kitson, after Shaun Barker bundled Nicky Forster over in the area, was the only goal of the game.

Of the forty-one previous games between the Royals and the Millers Reading have won eighteen games to the Millers ten.

The game at the New York Stadium earlier this season was a one-nil win for Reading with Paul McShane scoring four minutes from time.
