RUFC - Ref Watch v Derby County

RUFC - Ref Watch v Derby County
Darren Deadman from Cambridgeshire

Darren was last in charge of the Millers in December 2015 when Wolves were the visitors at the New York Stadium. James Henry put the visitors in front on five minutes but Joe Newell equalised. A goal a minute before the break from Danny Batth gave Wolves the win. The only yellow of the afternoon was to Kevin McDonald of Wolves.

September 2014 saw Darren at the New York Stadium before that when Charlton Athletic were in town. Johann Berg Gudmundsson opened the scoring for the visitors but a goal on the eightieth minute from Luciano Becchio gave the Millers a point from the game. There were four bookings that day - Craig Morgan and Becchio for the home side and Franck Moussa and Jordan Cousins of Charlton.

The time before that Darren was in charge of the Millers was our three-nil loss at Cheltenham in March 2013. Jermaine McGlashan, Marlon Pack and Steve Elliott scored for the Robins that day with Mr Deadman showing yellow cards to David Noble and Lee Frecklington (of the Millers) and Cheltenham's Michael Hector.

He was also in charge of our FA Cup game the same season away at Meadow Lane. The Millers won the game three-nil when Ben Pringle, Mark Bradley and Daniel Nardiello scoring the goals. Jordan Stewart was red carded on the half-hour mark of the game a host of yellow cards being shown including those to Millers Kari Arnason, Jason Taylor, Michael O'Connor and Lee Frecklington.

Before that Darren was in charge of our game at Don Valley against Morecambe in 2009 with the game ending goalless.

In March 2009 Darren was in the middle for our Tuesday night game in League Two away at Luton. Reuben Reid and Drewe Broughton put the Millers two-nil up with Chris Martin replying for the hosts before half-time. Danny Harrison made it three-one to the Millers but a goal on seventy minutes from Asa Hall gave the home side a bit of hope. But that hope was dashed in the final three minutes when Mark Hudson made it four-two to the visitors.

The first time the Millers and Darren Deadman made aquaintences was in February 2007 at the Withdean Stadium. The game against Brighton ended nil-nil with yellow cards shown to Brighton's Adam El Abd and Dean Hammond and Justine Cochrane of the Millers.

This season Darren has been in charge of forty-seven games showing one hundred and fifty-nine yellow cards and seven red cards.
