RUFC - Head-to-Head v Rochdale
Rotherham United welcome Rochdale for their second league visit to the New York Stadium.

The Millers and Dale have met seventy-one times in the league with Rotherham winning the majority of the games - thirty-four times to Rochdale's twenty-three wins.

The game at the New York Stadium in September 2012 saw Dale come out on top. Dele Adebola scored the opener for the visitors on the stroke of half-time with Alex Revell equalising for the Millers fourteen minutes into the second half. Daniel Nardiello came off the bench to put the Millers in the lead but after Revell was deemed to have knocked Jason Kennedy over in the penalty area up stepped Robert Grant to equalise from the penalty spot. Four minutes later the Millers defence seemed to be napping and when a ball went through to Kevin McIntyre he put the ball past Scott Shearer in the Millers goal to give Rochdale all three points and saw the Millers lose their one hundred home per cent record.

The two have met at the New York Stadium in an FA Cup game in December 2013 which Dale won two-one. Lee Frecklington scored for the Millers on six minutes but goals from Matty Lund and Peter Vincenti gave Rochdale the win. Michael Tidser saw red for the hosts on the seventy-fourth minute.

The last time the Millers beat Dale on 'home soil' was in August 2009 in League Two at Don Valley. Adam Le Fondre put the Millers one up two minutes before half-time but a goal from Chris Dagnall two minutes later made it one-all. But a Paul Warne goal just after the hour mark gave the hosts all three points.

The last time the Millers and Dale met on Rotherham soil was at Millmoor back in December 2007. Gary Jones and Adam Le Fondre put the visitors two ahead in the opening seven minutes with goals from Ian Sharps on fourteen minutes and Derek Holmes two minutes later saw the Millers going into half-time on equal terms. Glenn Murray put Rochdale back in the lead straight after the break with Lee McEvilly making it four-two to the Dale which ended a seven match undefeated run for the Millers.
